The party was initiated by a group of activists from various organizations including social movements, labor unions, Islamic activists/figures, small and medium-sized business owners, professionals, women activists, and young people, some of whom were former 1998 activists.
PRIMA positions itself as an alternative political party that emphasizes the principles of Nationalism, Democracy, and Humanity as its political platform.
The current Chairman of the Party is Agus Jabo Priyono, who has held the position since June 1, 2021.
At the national level, PRIMA consists of a Central Leadership Council and autonomous bodies called the Councils, which include the Council of Fair and Prosperous People, the Party Advisory Council, and the Expert Council.
At the provincial level, PRIMA is represented by Regional Leadership Councils and autonomous bodies called Councils, which include the Council of Fair and Prosperous People and the Party Advisory Council.
At the district/city level, PRIMA is represented by District/City Leadership Councils and an autonomous body called the Council of Fair and Prosperous People.***
