Tragic Incident: Toddler from Purwakarta Passes Away Allegedly Due to Domestic Violence

The grieving mother, hailing from Purwakarta, Jawa Barat, couldn't contain her tears as she recounted the harrowing journey from Cicalengka, Kabupaten Bandung, to her hometown. Little did she anticipate that her second child would meet such a fate.
Yuni's decision to return to Purwakarta was spurred by an unpleasant altercation with her husband, Ujang Mulyadi (31). She revealed that the unfortunate demise of her child was suspected to be a result of violence inflicted by her husband on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
"During our visit to a local shop, my husband suddenly brought our child back home, soaking wet. Shortly after, he took the child out again," Yuni disclosed to reporters at RSUD Bayu Asih on Friday.
"Upon returning from the outing, our child complained of stomach pain and started vomiting persistently from the afternoon until late at night," she added.
Yuni further detailed that her husband forcefully fed BTM on Thursday night, which the child vehemently rejected. This rejection apparently triggered Ujang's rage, leading to physical violence against the toddler. Subsequently, Yuni and her two children were expelled from their home.
Left with no choice, Yuni embarked on a bus journey from Bandung to Purwakarta, arriving on Friday morning. However, her anguish reached its peak when she discovered her child's lifeless state upon arrival, prompting her to seek immediate assistance from the authorities.
Kasatreskrim Polresta Bandung, Kompol Oliestha, confirmed the case of suspected domestic violence resulting in the tragic demise of the child.
"The perpetrator has been apprehended, and we are currently investigating the matter," stated Oliestha on Friday.
While Polres Purwakarta initially handled the case and filed a report, the jurisdiction was transferred to Polresta Bandung due to the incident location being in Cicalengka.
Meanwhile, AKP Muchammad Arwin Bachar from Kasat Reskrim Polres Purwakarta disclosed preliminary findings indicating physical violence inflicted on BTM's body.
While Polres Purwakarta initially handled the case and filed a report, the jurisdiction was transferred to Polresta Bandung due to the incident location being in Cicalengka.
