One of his supporters, Asep Rahmat Saleh Setiaji, or "Zaenx," a well-known farmer leader in Kiarapedes, expressed his excitement about Hapidin's candidacy. “Having a farmer in this race is huge. We have to support it,” Zaenx said on November 7, 2024. “It’s time to raise the farmers’ dignity. Too often, we’re portrayed as poor or weak in movies. Abang Ijo’s campaign is a chance to change that.”
Hapidin isn’t just a candidate; he has a solid background in leadership, currently heading the Nahdlatul Ulama Agricultural Development Institute (LPPNU). His experience in agricultural leadership resonates deeply with farmers, many of whom have felt underrepresented in local politics for years.

This groundswell of support isn’t limited to individual farmers. The movement known as PPBI (Petani Pasukan Bang Ijo), an informal farmer network, has openly declared their allegiance to Hapidin’s cause. Their hope? That he’ll push for change that uplifts Purwakarta’s farming sector and addresses their everyday struggles.
In the lead-up to the election, Hapidin and his running mate Saepul Bahri Binzein, known together as “ZeinJo,” have continued to gather endorsements. After the first candidate debate held at Hotel Harper, support poured in, including from organizations like the Indonesian Muslim Unity Movement (Gempita) and Indonesia Drum Corps Association (ICDA).
Agus Santoso, Gempita’s Purwakarta Chair, voiced his support for the ZeinJo duo, citing their integrity and commitment to Purwakarta’s future. “We believe they’ll lead with honesty and a genuine love for our land,” he said. Gempita’s official endorsement adds to a growing momentum for Hapidin's campaign, positioning him as a voice of change for Purwakarta’s future.
With Hapidin in the race, the Purwakarta election promises a new chapter for local farmers. This year, their hopes and dreams may finally have a representative in office.***
